The Second Life in Education wiki described the New Media Consortium (NMC) Campus (SLurl) as:
“the largest educational prescence in Second Life and supports events, classes, demonstrations, art exhibitions and learning experiences.”

Library of Congress Exhibit Now Open In Second Life

It’s late so just a few mental notes to return to later.
“The Library 2.0 has been working with the Library of Congress on a Declaration of Independence display that was officially announced and which opened yesterday on Info Island in Second Life. The exhibit includes dioramas, streamed audio, text in the form of larger-than-life documents and SL notecards, information kiosks and even period furniture.”Read about it here, and visit it here.
