- Adium - Adium is a free instant messaging application for Mac OS X that can connect to AIM, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo, and more.
- Audacity - Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.
- HandBrake - HandBrake is an open-source, GPL-licensed, multiplatform, multithreaded DVD to MPEG-4 converter, available for Mac OSX, Linux, and Windows.
- Mozilla Firefox
- Mozilla Thunderbird
- Nvu - open source WYSIWYG HTML editor
- PDF Creator - PDFCreator easily creates PDFs from any Windows program. Use it like a printer in Word, StarCalc or any other Windows application.
- Pidgin - Pidgin is a multi-protocol Instant Messaging client that allows you to use all of your IM accounts at once.

- Samba - Samba is an Open Source/Free Software suite that has, since 1992, provided file and print services to all manner of SMB/CIFS clients, including the numerous versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
