Open Education
Presented to the UNSW Network of Faculty Educational Developers on 26 August 2009

This presentation was designed to set the theme for a wider group discussion on open education, the opportunities it affords, and the implications it has for existing educational systems.

The presentation portion (10 minutes long) contains an introduction to open education, notes some key dates in its history, emerging schools of thought, examples of existing use cases, and poses some questions to help inspire discussion.

Connectivism and Connective Knowledge 2008
Presented to the UNFED Group on 5 August 2009

These slides were prepared as a visual aid for a presentation for the UNSW Network of Faculty Educational Developers on 5 August 2009.

The primary foci of the presentation are the technical frameworks and environments used during Connectivism and Connective Knowledge 2008, the distributed nature of the resulting systems, and corresponding learning networks that developed.

Student Experiences in CCK08
Presented at the Open Education Workshop @ Macquarie Uni 2008

These slides were used during a brief 5-minute use case presented to the Open Education Workshop 2008 at Macquarie University.

The talk covered an overview of “Connectivism and Connective Knowledge”, a 12-week course run out of the University of Manitoba, my experiences as a student of the course and a quick discussion of some of the tools used by the other students.
