Recording from CCK08 Presentation for UNFED
Yesterday afternoon I gave a short presentation on CCK08 to the UNSW Network of Faculty Educational Developers, focusing primarily on an overview of CCK’s distributed nature, the technical environments used during the 12-week course and the underpinning logic behind the distributed framework. Seeing as I had access to an iPod and microphone attachment I decided to record the first half of the presentation and share it here.
The talk was divided into two parts – roughly 20 minutes of which featured my presentation, and a following 10 minutes of open discussion. I opted not to record the discussion component because of two key reasons: a) the microphone wouldn’t have picked up everyone and b) I hadn’t sought approval to record people before hand.

Certificate in Interdisciplinary Studies: Emerging Technologies for Learning (ETL)
One of the questions that came up during the session is how to enroll formally in CCK09. The course is part of a wider certificate in Interdisciplinary Studies: Emerging Technologies for Learning, being offered out of the University of Manitoba.
According to their website, the tuition cost is approximately C$420/course (that’s Canadian Dollars), and “most materials are available online and software used is open source.”
More information on the formal enrollment and the certificate is available here:

@emapey – Thanks for your message. I have been following your blog so I have discovered that you know Nicola Avery, who I once worked with online. Small world! I’m not sure how active I will be in CCK09 – I’m still thinking about CCK08 Jenny

You know Nicola!! She is one of my best online connections. Yes, it’s really a small world. We became friends at Learntrends 2007.
I find new connections at every new online course or conference. This is the main reason I signed up for CCK09.
I really hope to see you and John, often, on the WordPress.com CCK09 tag page

@Nicola great to hear from you Nicola. Thanks for visiting my blog. I also look forward to exploring many things I don’t understand on the Connectivism course – even though it will be second time round
The header photo isn’t Scotland – but Cumbria – no so far from my house. The Lake District is a mini-Scotland!
Look forward to ’seeing’ you on the connectivism course.
Jenny
