It&#039;s actually a birth ball - roughly thigh-high and very effective in soothing a baby to sleep :)  It&#039;s getting harder the bigger he gets though, because he&#039;s heavy now.  But it&#039;s nice to be able to help.

I think the key topic that needs to be addressed before any real change in education can occur is the role of the educator and the teacher.  We&#039;ve been talking about this for some time now in CCK08 of course, but the discussion needs to spill over into the wider educational landscape before any real change will be realised.

I think educators are very concerned about what distributed educational models mean for them and their careers, so helping people realise that they&#039;re role is still critical to the process will be a really important task to accomplish.  Perhaps then they&#039;ll be more open to change.

Even then I suspect a long road still lay ahead, but I think it&#039;s an important one that we walk - and sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the post. CCK08 has encouraged me to think about learning too. I think this is a time of change and that there will be new (flat) relationships developing. I believe this will lead to a significant debate about credentialism and the role institutions play in knowledge production and sharing.

I sense that there is a new radicalism emerging buoyed by connected relationships.

I hope you had a delightful day away from the computer.
