Scenes from the NMC Virtual Symposium

5 November 2008 No Comment

The NMC Virtual Symposium officially began today with an Opening Reception, complete with scavenger hunt, live music and dancing. It was a wonderful beginning to what looks to be an engaging and enjoyable experience. I’ll be capturing screen clips of the event using CamStudio over the next two days and will be posting them on my YouTube Channel.

I’m also amassing a Flickr Set of still images from the event. This is available here.

In all likelihood they’ll just be raw shots rather than edited to include different camera angles, because I’m not likely to have the time to produce anything particularly polished. Nonetheless they should provide a glimpse into what took place.

I recommend clicking on the “Watch in High Quality Option” just below the lower right-hand corner of the video player when viewed at the YouTube site (not available in the embedded instances). The normal view is fairly pixellated and somewhat difficult to get an adequate appreciation for what’s going on.

I haven’t figured out how to capture the audio from the session as well as video yet, and will be looking into this. In the meantime I’ll include some instrumental music so it’s not a silent picture.

Below is a YouTube playlist I’ve created that features all clips captured during the symposium. Additions will appear at the end of the list rather than the beginning; to navigate to a specific clip just scroll over the bottom of the video player and you’ll be shown a list of all the available clips. Otherwise just press play, sit back, and the clips will be played one right after the other.
