The following are screenshots of the first iteration of terriforming for the UNSW Atoll in SecondLife. I’m pretty happy with how it looks at the moment, but what remains to be seen is how well it fits with the learning elements/activities we’re fleshing out. So at this stage it’s uncertain how much (if any) of this design will make it into the final version, however I felt the need to produce something tangible tonight. So here you are.

Don’t forget your CRICOS provider number
Really, really, really DUMB question, but what is a CRICOS number? I’ve seen many people include them in their email signatures but have never bothered to ask what their purpose is.

CRICOS is the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses. UNSW is a CRICOS provider and has a code which it identifies itself by in advertisements – if you look on our ads you’ll see “CRICOS Provider xxxxxx” (I forget the number right now). Not sure whether this applies to virtual islands or not, but I’d guess not!
