Just had to look this up. From ITS’ website, the Access via WPA-Enterprise Authentication section indicates:

“Most handheld mobile devices (including Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch) do not support WPA-Enterprise wireless security. They should instead use the WPA-Personal & Web Authentication instructions further on.”

Going to that section lists the SSID / Network Name as uniwide_webauth. So it sounds like that’s the cause of your problems.

It's so much easier to hold the iPhone and write on it when held sideways. Have you been able to connect your iPod to the uniwide wifi network? I can connect my iPhone to the uniwide-webauth network but it's cumbersome to do so, and connecting to the uniwide network gives me "Wrong name/password" even with the same details I use on the webauth area. Other people have reported getting their iPhones on the network.
