The Chronicle of Higher Education published an article today that highlights a fortuitous, yet unplanned, outcome for an academic who maintains a academic blog.

The New Me

This is my alter ego in Second Life, Zapp Aeon. I freely admit the name has a total sci fi geek ring to it. The origin is a combination of two cartoon characters: Aeon Flux and Zapp Brannigan from Family Guy. I can’t say I resemble either in personality, but I’m happy with my Second Life persona nonetheless.
